Spawners

Get, place, stack and power up mob spawners, with full level tables.

A spawner is a timed block that keeps spawning one kind of mob around itself while your island is loaded. Stack more of the same spawner into it to raise its level, up to x16.

A stacked spawner with its hologram

Place a Zombie Spawner stacked to x5 or more on your island, turned ON, with a few zombies around it. Night or a dark enclosure is fine. Third person, about 4 blocks away so the whole hologram (name xN, Mobs x/y ON, Expires, Next, Click to toggle) is readable.

Placing a spawner

RuleValue
Distance from a spawner of the same typeAt least 48 blocks
Distance from any other spawnerAt least 8 blocks
Spawners per island10, raised to 400 by Spawner Capacity
What counts toward the capEach placed spawner block; stack size doesn't count

While you hold a spawner, a preview shows the box mobs will spawn in.

Tip

Stacking never uses an extra spawner slot. Stack duplicates into one block instead of placing them separately, and you'll hit the island cap much later.

Using a placed spawner

Only island members can interact with spawners; visitors can't.

Sneak-break, or break a single spawnerDrops the whole spawner as one item, timers keptBreak
  • You can only stack the same type, up to x16.
  • When a spawner is removed, any of its mobs still alive vanish.

The hologram

  • Name and stack (e.g. Zombie Spawner x5)
  • Mobs: alive / max, and ON or OFF
  • Expires: time until the next stack runs out
  • Next: seconds until the next spawn (only while ON and below its mob limit)

Lifetime and pausing

  • A new spawner's lore says "Expires after placed: X". The clock only runs while it's placed. Picked-up spawners show "Expires in: X" with the time left.
  • Turning a spawner OFF pauses its timers. Turning it back on resumes them.
  • Every stack inside has its own timer. When the oldest runs out, the spawner drops one level; when the last runs out, it's removed.
  • Expired spawners can't be placed or stacked.

Save their lifetime

Switch spawners off when you don't need the mobs. /spawners off (Paladin rank and up) turns every spawner on the island off at once.

How spawning works

  • Mobs appear on a random free spot within 4.5 blocks sideways and 1.5 blocks up or down of the spawner.
  • A spawner stops while its own living mobs are at its max nearby limit. That limit is always 10 x stack (10 at x1, up to 160 at x16).
  • The first spawn after placing has an extra 20-second delay.
  • The island mob cap still applies on top (see Upgrades & Limits).
  • Only mobs from island spawners count for "mobs from island spawners" Island Quests.

Level tables

Each cell: time between spawns / mobs per spawn / max nearby mobs. Spawn speed is shown before any upgrades or boosts.

Every other spawner

Rabbit, Chicken, Pig, Cow, Sheep, Spider, Blaze, Bee, Magma Cube, Breeze, Guardian, Wither Skeleton, Enderman, Piglin, Iron Golem and the rest all share this table:

StackTime between spawnsMobs per spawnMax nearby
x19 s110
x28 s1-220
x37 s1-230
x46 s2-340
x55 s2-450
x6-x165 s2-460-160 (+10 per stack)

Note

Past x5 (x8 for Creeper) extra stacks only raise the max nearby mobs; spawn speed stays the same. They do still add lifetime, since each stack has its own timer.

Upgrades and boosts

  • Spawner Capacity (Island Upgrades): 10 → 35 → 70 → 100 → 150 → 200 → 300 → 400 spawners.
  • Spawner Speed (Island Upgrades): 1.10x, 1.20x, 1.35x, up to 1.50x.
  • Spawner Speed boost (Quest Token Boost Shop): 1.5x for 24 hours for 25 Quest Tokens; stronger levels up to 3x cost more. It multiplies with the upgrade.
  • Mob Cap (Island Upgrades): raises the island-wide mob limit from 300 to 825.

Full costs are in Upgrades & Limits; the Boost Shop is in Island Quests. Time between spawns = table time ÷ (upgrade x boost), so Spawner Speed 1.50x with a 3x boost spawns 4.5 times as often.

The /spawners command

/spawners onTurn on every spawner on your island
/spawners offTurn off every spawner on your island (also pauses their timers)

Needs Paladin rank or higher (see Ranks), the Toggle Spawners permission, and you must be on your island. It replies with how many spawners it switched.

Chat after /spawners off

On a Paladin+ account standing on an island with several spawners, run /spawners off. Capture the chat line 'Turned off X/Y spawners on your island.' with a spawner hologram showing OFF in the background.

Tips

  • A normal break peels off one stack; sneak-break to take the whole spawner.
  • 48 blocks between same-type spawners is a lot on a small island. Plan one farm per mob type, or expand your island.
  • Put a Mob Killer minion and a Chunk Hopper next to a spawner for hands-off drops.
  • If you see "Your island is saving", just try again a moment later.
