Every crop, how growth works, Crop Speed upgrades and farm tips.
Crops on your island grow on their own while it's loaded. How fast depends on each crop's grow chance, light and your island's Crop Growth Speed upgrade. Crops you harvest count toward crop Island Quests.

A lit, irrigated island farm at full growth
Build a farm on your island with rows of fully grown wheat, carrots, potatoes and beetroot, water channels and torches, plus a pumpkin stem with a pumpkin beside it. Daytime, third person from above at about 45 degrees so the whole farm is in frame.

How crops grow
- Every so often each crop gets a chance to grow one stage. That chance is the crop's grow chance x your Crop Growth Speed x any active Crop Speed boost.
- Crops marked Needs light below only grow at light level 9 or higher.
- Planting, bone-mealing and harvesting need the island's Build or Break Crops permission.
- Wheat, carrots, potatoes and beetroot use the normal Minecraft drops, so Fortune works on them.

Pumpkins and melons
A mature stem grows one fruit on a free side, and only where the block below is solid. Each stem keeps one fruit at a time; harvest it and the stem grows another.

An island upgrade in Island Upgrades, paid from the island bank (QT = Quest Tokens, OB = Orebits).

The Crop Speed boost in the Quest Token Boost Shop gives 1.5x for 24 hours for 25 Quest Tokens, with stronger levels up to 3x. It multiplies with the upgrade, so 3.00x plus a 3x boost grows crops 9 times as fast. See Island Quests.
The Crop Growth Speed row in Island Upgrades
As Leader, open Island Upgrades on an island with Crop Growth Speed partly upgraded (e.g. 1.50x). Capture the list with the Crop Speed row showing 'current -> next' and its cost, or tap it and capture the Confirm Upgrade screen.

Automating your farm

Tips
- Light your farm to level 9 or more, or farmland crops won't grow at all.
- Harvest sugar cane, cactus and bamboo from the second block up so the base keeps growing.
- Leave a free side with a solid block underneath for every pumpkin and melon stem.
- Upgrade Crop Growth Speed early: the first tiers are cheap and speed up every crop on the island.
- Farming only runs while the island is loaded, so build near where you spend time.
