Tools & Special Blocks

Builder wands, trench tools, harvester hoes, texts, teleporters, parkour and spleef.

Special tools speed up building and mining, and special blocks turn your island into somewhere worth visiting. Kits and texts are bought in the Orebits Store (Misc); tools mostly come from Bundles.

Builder Wands

Wands place many blocks at once using blocks from your inventory. Both use the stack in the hotbar slot right after the wand (wand in slot 3, blocks in slot 4).

Using the Builder Wand

  1. 1

    Pick a shape

Hit cycles Box, Hollow Box and Sphere.

  2. 2

    Start a preview

Use on a block, or Sneak + Use twice to set two corners.

  3. 3

    Resize

Forward/back changes length (radius for spheres), sideways changes width, jump changes height, hold sneak to move it. Hit toggles walk mode so you can reposition.

  4. 4

    Place

Use again. Green outline = valid, red = blocked (the action bar says why).

Using the Basic Builder Wand

  • Aim at a block face to extend from it, or at an edge to bridge outward, then Use.
  • It builds 5 blocks by default. Run /basicbuilderwand to turn on length adjusting, then Hit cycles 1 to 8. Run it again to go back to 5.
  • Placements can't go outside your island, into occupied space, where you lack Build permission, or past a Storage/Hopper limit.
  • Blocks with special behaviour can't be wand-placed (flowers, beds, banners, buttons, candles, carpets and similar).
  • At 0 uses the wand breaks.

Tip

The Builder Wand charges one use per placement, so a 1,024-block box costs the same as one block. Build big.

A Builder Wand Hollow Box preview

Hold a Builder Wand with a stack of stone bricks in the next hotbar slot. Set Hollow Box mode and start a medium preview (about 8x5x8) on your island. Third person, slightly above, so the green outline and the action bar (mode, block, amount) are visible.

Trench tools

A trench tool breaks a flat square around the block you mine, on the same level (a layer, not a cube).

Phoenix Trench Pickaxe3x3InfinitePhoenix Bundle collection

  • The block you mine costs 1 use, and each extra block costs 1 more, so a full 3x3 uses 9. Durability enchants can save uses.
  • Pickaxes break stone, deepslate, ores, netherrack, end stone, obsidian and other hard blocks; axes break logs, wood, stems and bamboo blocks.
  • Extra blocks drop fixed items: stone gives cobblestone, copper ore 2 raw copper, lapis and redstone ore 4 each, diamond/emerald/quartz ore 1 gem.
  • Extra blocks only break where you have Break permission, and count for island quests and your blocks-broken stat.
  • Switching away from the tool mid-dig stops the rest of the square.

Enchanting trench tools is covered in Custom Enchants.

Harvester Hoes

Break one fully grown crop and every mature crop of the same type in the area is harvested and replanted instantly, for 1 use.

Sell Mode: sneak + use with the hoe in hand to toggle it. With it on, the harvest is sold straight to your balance at Sell Shop prices; anything unsellable drops as normal. See Crops & Farming.

An Eternal Harvester Hoe clearing a 5x5 wheat field in Sell Mode

On a fully grown wheat field at least 5x5, enable Sell Mode on an Eternal Harvester Hoe (sneak+use) and break a centre crop. Capture just after: the 5x5 replanted patch visible in first person with the hoe in hand and the 'sell mode enabled' chat line on screen.

Placeable Text

A floating, editable text label. Buy it in the Orebits Store for 200 Orebits.

  • Use it on an empty spot (Build permission), then tap the text to open Edit Text: 3 lines of up to 64 characters, a Size slider (0.4x to 2.0x) and an Enabled toggle.
  • Up to 20 per island.
  • Manage them all from Island Settings > Special Blocks > Texts. Deleting one, or breaking its anchor, gives the item back.

Teleporters

The Teleporter Kit (300 Orebits, also in the Luxury Bundle) makes a linked pair of plates. Step on one to teleport to the other.

  1. 1

    Place plate A

Use the kit on an empty block (Build permission).

  2. 2

    Place plate B

Use the same kit again somewhere else. The pair is created.

  3. 3

    Set access

Island Settings > Special Blocks > Teleporters > a teleporter > Edit Settings: name, Enabled, and who may use it (Visitor, Member, Mod, Admin, Co-Leader).

Up to 5 pairs per island. Delete Teleporter removes both plates and gives the kit back.

Parkour courses

The Parkour Plate Kit (200 Orebits) makes a Start and Finish plate, placed the same way as teleporters. Up to 5 courses per island.

  • Step on Start to begin the timer (shown on the action bar), then reach Finish.
  • The Start plate's hologram shows the Top Times (top 5). Interact with the Finish plate to return to the start.
  • In Parkour Settings you can rename it, disable it, or set access to Everyone or Members only. Reset Leaderboard clears the times.

A parkour Start plate with its Top Times hologram

On an island parkour course with at least 3 recorded times, stand near the Start plate. Third person, so the plate and the full hologram (course name, Start Plate, Top Times list) are readable. Daytime.

Spleef arenas

The Spleef Arena Kit (250 Orebits) makes a spleef arena between Corner A and Corner B, placed at the same height. The floor can be 2x2 up to 256 blocks of area. One arena per island.

  • Interact with a corner to join; at least 2 players are needed to Start Round.
  • Break the floor under the others. Falling off eliminates you; the last player standing wins. Rounds time out after 5 minutes.
  • Choose who can start rounds: the owner and permitted members, all island members, or members and visitors.
  • The hologram shows status, who has joined and the Top Wins.

Giveaway Chests

A Giveaway Chest (200 Orebits) lets you run a raffle on your island: fill it with prizes and visitors interact to enter. One per island. Full details in Events & Giveaways.

Special Blocks screen

Island Settings > Special Blocks (Leader and Co-Leader by default) shows how many special objects you've used and has a page for Parkour Courses, Teleporters, Texts, Giveaways and Spleef.

Paired kits must be removed while the island is loaded. Only complete, unused kits can be listed on the Item Market.

The Special Blocks screen

On an island with at least one of each special block (text, teleporter, parkour course, giveaway chest, spleef arena), open Island Settings > Special Blocks. Capture the body line with 'N/30 special objects used' and all five category buttons.

Protected blocks

Area effects, such as trench tools and mining enchants, never break or replace these. You can still break them by hand.

  • Any block that currently holds items.
  • Chests, barrels, shulker boxes, hoppers, furnaces, smokers, dispensers, droppers, crafters, brewing stands and bookshelves of every kind.
  • Beacons, campfires, conduits, decorated pots, ender chests, jukeboxes, lecterns, spawners, trial spawners, vaults and the dragon egg.
  • Chunk Hoppers, furniture, Giveaway Chests, Lucky Blocks, teleporter and parkour plates, text anchors, spawners and spleef arenas.
