Flight
Fly on islands with /fly using your Fly Time balance, and where to get more.
You can fly on the Islands servers. Flying spends your Fly Time balance, shown in the sidebar. Turn it on with /fly, then double-jump to take off.

How flying works

Turn it on
Type
/fly. You see “Flight enabled. 29m remaining.” (your own balance). - 2
Take off
Double-jump to start flying.

Turn it off
Type
/flyagain: “Flight disabled. X remaining.”
- Fly Time only goes down while you're actually in the air. Standing on the ground with flight on costs nothing.
- When your balance hits zero, flight switches off on its own. If you have none,
/flysays “You have no flight time remaining.” - Your remaining Fly Time is always in the sidebar.
Heads up
Watch your balance when flying over the void. Flight turns off the moment your Fly Time runs out.Chat after typing /fly showing Flight enabled with time remaining
On your island, type /fly and capture the chat line 'Flight enabled. <time> remaining.' with the player slightly airborne in first person.

Where you can fly

Island owners control this in role and visitor permissions. Visitors can't fly by default. See Island Team.

As island owner: Server Menu > Island > Island Settings > Role Permissions > Visitors. Scroll so 'Allow Fly' is visible.

Tip
Claim/daily every day: the 5 minutes add up, and each claim also gives Daily Bundles that can roll more Fly Time.Other ways to get airborne
- Elytra (a Luxury Bundle reward) and firework rockets, where the island allows rockets.
- Element dragon pets become rideable flying mounts at pet level 50.
