Crops grow on your island by themselves while someone is there. Sell them for money, use them for food, and finish crop Island Quests.

Start a farm

Make farmland
Use a hoe on dirt or grass to make farmland

Add water
Put water within 4 blocks so the farmland stays wet.

Plant seeds
Wheat seeds, carrots, potatoes or beetroot seeds.

Add light
Farmland crops only grow at light level 9 or more. Torches work great.
Wheat, carrots, potatoes and beetroot work like normal Minecraft, so Fortune gives you more.
Every crop
Fast crops grow more often than slow ones. All crops grow faster with the Crop Growth Speed upgrade.

Pumpkin and melon stems need a free spot next to them with a solid block underneath. Each stem grows one fruit at a time.
Bone meal
Bone meal 
makes wheat, carrots, potatoes, stems, cocoa and berries grow right away. It does nothing to cactus, nether wart, pumpkins and melons.

Open the Server Menu
Tap the Server Menu item in your last hotbar slot, or type
/menu. It opens on the Island tab. - 2
Tap Island Upgrades
Find Crop Growth Speed.

Buy the next step
It is paid from the island bank. The first steps are cheap: 1.25x costs $25,000.
For an extra push, type /quests and tap Boost Shop. The Crop Speed boost gives 1.5x for 24 hours for 25 Quest Tokens. It adds on top of the upgrade: 3x upgrade with a 3x boost is 9 times as fast.

Tips
- No light, no crops. Put torches all over your farm.
- Break sugar cane, cactus and bamboo from the second block up so the bottom keeps growing.
- Buy the first steps of Crop Growth Speed early. They are cheap and help every crop.
- Crops only grow while someone is on the island, so farm close to where you play.
